Canada Return Policy

We accept returns within 14 days of receiving your item. To be eligible for a return, your item must be:

• Unworn, unused, and in its original condition

• With tags attached

• In the original packaging

• Accompanied by a receipt or proof of purchase

U.S. Return Policy

At The Original Bug Shirt Company, we take great pride in every product we manufacture. Since 1991, we have been committed to producing premium Canadian-made insect-protective clothing and providing the exceptional customer service our customers have come to expect.

Due to the increasing cost and complexity of international shipping and returns, we are currently unable to accept returns from the United States for refunds or size exchanges.

Before placing your order, please review our sizing charts carefully. Fit can vary depending on body shape, build, and personal preference. Taking a few moments to compare your measurements with our sizing information will help you select the size that is best for you.

If you are located in the United States, you may also wish to purchase through one of our U.S. retail partners where available. Purchasing locally may provide the opportunity to see our products in person while eliminating the challenges associated with international returns.  Our US Retailers

Your satisfaction is important to us. If you receive an incorrect item, your order is incomplete, or you believe your product has a manufacturing defect, please contact us within 14 days of receiving your order.

We will review your concern promptly and work with you to determine the most appropriate solution. Depending on the circumstances, this may include replacement parts, repair materials, a replacement product, or another suitable resolution. We stand behind the quality of every Bug Shirt we manufacture and will always address issues resulting from defects in materials or workmanship.

We appreciate your understanding as we navigate the increasing challenges of international shipping. Our goal is to continue providing premium Canadian-made insect-protective clothing while delivering the level of service that has been the foundation of our company for more than three decades.

Damages and Issues
Please inspect your order upon receipt and contact us immediately at mail@bugshirt.com if:

• The item is defective,

• Damaged, or

• You received the wrong item.

We will evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / Non-returnable Items
Certain items cannot be returned, including:

• Sale items

• Gift cards

• Custom items

Duties, Tariffs & Refused Parcels
We ship with duties and tariffs prepaid whenever possible. In most cases, your order will arrive without additional charges.

However, customs authorities may occasionally apply duties, tariffs, or fees beyond our control. If such charges are applied, they are the responsibility of the recipient.

⚠️ If you refuse delivery of a parcel because of duties, tariffs, or other charges, the shipment will be returned to us at our expense. In this case, your refund will be issued minus:

• Any duties, tariffs, or taxes already paid on your behalf, and

• Any return shipping or carrier charges incurred due to refusal.

To avoid unnecessary costs, please contact us first at mail@bugshirt.com or call 1-800-998-9096 refusing delivery. We will do our best to assist you.

European Union Cooling-Off Period
If your merchandise is being shipped to the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without justification. The same conditions apply: items must be unworn, unused, and in original condition with packaging and tags.

In accordance to Articles 9 and 11 of Directive 2011/83/EU on Consumer Rights, customers residing in the European Union have the right to withdraw from eligible distance and online purchase contracts within 14 days without providing a reason. To exercise this right, customers may complete the "Withdraw Order" form available in the footer of our website and submit it before the expiry of the applicable withdrawal period. Upon receipt of a valid withdrawal request, we will process the cancellation and any applicable refund in accordance with EU consumer protection legislation and the procedures set out in this Policy.

Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return, we will notify you of approval or rejection. If approved, your refund will be processed back to your original payment method within 10 business days.

Please note: It may take additional time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund. If more than 15 business days have passed since we approved your return and you have not received your refund, please contact us at mail@bugshirt.com
